Places to visit in Chalong
Soi Ta-iad & Tiger Muay Thai
Chalong is home to many Muay Thai camps, fitness centres and spas. As you drive through Soi Ta-iad, you’ll observe energetic individuals, often in workout attire, engaging in training throughout the day.
Tiger Muay Thai is boxing gym famous for hosting many UFC champions. They provide classes in Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ and many more. They welcome all fitness levels and fight experience.
TMT is open from Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 17:00 and is less than 5 minutes drive from Villa Zolitude.
Sunset at Big Buddha
The Big Buddha is one of Phuket's iconic landmark. The Big Buddha stands as a magnificent 45-meter-tall statue crafted from white marble. Offering breathtaking panoramic views from its summit.
To reach the Big Buddha, you'll need to ascend 94 steps, up a grand staircase to the Buddha statue. We recommend visiting Big Buddha for sunset to see the glowing ruby sky and view of Kata Beach and Kata Noi Bay.
Wat Chalong Temple
Wat Chalong or Chalong Temple was established in the early 19th century, and holds the distinction of being the largest and most visited temple in Phuket. The temple is a place for prayer and homage dedicated to revered monks Luang Pho Cham and Luang Pho Chuang. These two monks played a significant role in leading the Chalong Subdistrict's residents during the Chinese rebellion in 1876. Wat Chalong is a towering 60-meter 'Chedi,' housing a fragment of Buddha's bone. The temple's interiors showcase stunning paintings portraying the life of Buddha, along with numerous golden statues.
Naka Night Market
At Phuket's Naka Night Market, you can indulge in a variety of street food, souvenirs, handmade products, secondhand goods and many more. The market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 4-11pm. Enjoy refreshingly cold beer, live music, and the fantastic ambiance that the market offers every weekend throughout the year.
Kan Eang at Pier Restaurant
A must-try seafood restaurant on this side of the island. Kan Eang celebrated their 50th year anniversary in 2023 cementing its place as a Phuket culinary institution. The venue offers an expansive menu of premium seafood, classic Thai dishes, high quality raw bar, creative cocktails and much more. Set on the seaside of Chalong Bay, enjoy a sunset cocktail while seeing the hustle and bustle of Chalong Pier's activities.
